Barrier Ninjutsu ( Kekkai Ninjutsu; Literally meaning "Barrier Ninja Techniques") is the incorporation of barriers into techniques. Essentially these techniques allow the users to manipulate barriers. The user can erect barriers that can be used to protect themselves, or to trap an opponent, amongst other various uses.

                                                             STRONGEST BARRIER TECHNIQUE
TOAD GOURD PRISON:(JIRAIYA)
 
This technique summons a small, gourd-shaped toad, called a "Gourd Toad" (, Hyōtan Gama), a unique species of toad indigenous to Mount Myōboku. This technique is used to capture and isolate a victim by dragging them into the toad's stomach. Isolated from the outside world by a barrier, the space inside the Gourd Toad's stomach is far larger than the surface size of the Gourd Toad itself.
The environment inside the toad's stomach is a cavernous chamber, which includes a lake of strong corrosive gastric acid that can dissolve anything that should happen to fall into it, along with shores around the acid lake, and formations sticking out of the lake; the already-existing structures within the Toad's stomach are seemingly unaffected by the acid lake. Once trapped inside, an opponent is cut off from any allies and susceptible to attack, and can then be easily defeated.

FOUR VIOLET FLAME BATTLE ENCAMPMENT:(SOUND FOUR)

A solid, strong barrier formation, performed by four shinobi. Standing in a square formation, the performers are covered from all sides. The faces of the barrier are made from purple flames. The barrier does not allow anyone to enter or exit so long as the ninja are unharmed. The body of anyone touching it will immediately be engulfed in flames. In addition, there is no way to destroy the formation from inside the barrier, since the four people also have a barrier on the inside protecting them. Breaking out is extremely difficult.

FIVE BARRIER SEAL:(NAGATO)

his technique creates a barrier around a place by placing four "forbidden" ( kin) tags in different locations surrounding the place to be protected, a fifth tag on the location to be protected. The tags are placed on flat surfaces, and are connected with the user's chakra. This technique turns the entire range surrounded by the tags into a barrier space, and inside the space, the material's destruction is "forbidden". Using any kind of physical attack to try and destroy something in the barrier is folly, as it will only lead to injury. To cancel this, it is necessary to search for the four tags and tear them off simultaneously. Meaning there must be at least five people on a team to cancel it.
Even if the tags are removed, there is a final obstacle. The user can add a trap that will create perfect copies of those who have removed the seal, preventing them from returning immediately.

SPACE-TIME BARRIER :(MINATO)
This barrier technique incorporates the use of Minato's Flying Thunder God Kunai technique formula as well as a unique set of hand seals to erect a barrier capable of warping away anything which comes in contact with it. Once erected, the barrier has proven powerful enough to warp away techniques as destructive as a Tailed Beast Ball. Once warped, the subject of the technique has to be directed to another location marked by the Flying Thunder God sealing formula

SAGE ART GATE OF THE GREAT GODS :(HASHIRAMA)

The sealing technique which is used in Sage Mode, the user manifests a select number of massive red torii that fall down from above, in order to pin an intended target between the gate and the ground. The size and strength of these torii is such that they can even be used to immobilise the Ten-Tails. These torii are quite versatile and can be used in several different ways, this was displayed after Obito Uchiha became the beast's jinchūriki, Hashirama piled the torii atop one another in an attempt to increase their ability to immobilise the target.

FOUR RED SUN BATTLE ENCAMPMENT :(HASHIRAMA,TOBIRAMA,HIRUZEN AND MINATO)

A powerful barrier formation noted to only be usable by those of Kage calibre, whereby four shinobi, standing in a square formation, erect a large barrier that is red in colour. It was stated to be several times stronger than the Four Violet Flames Battle Encampment, and is highly malleable. When assaulted by a Tailed Beast Ball from the Ten-Tails, the barrier simply distorted its shape, forcing the brunt of the attack upwards while it was left completely intact.Its users can create openings within the barrier to allow passage.
The barrier is apparently very chakra-taxing since at least two of its users are limited in the useage of other techniques, such as clone techniques, while maintaining the barrier at the same time.

CHAKRA CHAINS BARRIER :(KUSHINA)
Using her chakra chains, Kushina can erect a barrier that is strong enough to prevent anyone or thing from neither entering nor leaving the perimeter defined by the chains. The barrier is very durable, as Hiruzen stated that there was nothing anyone could do to interfere with what Minato and Kushina were doing once it had been erected.

GUNBAI BARRIER TECHNIQUE :(MADARA)
By channeling chakra through his gunbai, Madara can erect a large circular barrier, durable enough to completely block the large chakra receiver stakes thrown with great force by Naruto in his Tailed Beast Mode.

THIRTY SIX LAYER SELF REPAIRING BARRIER :(ALLIED SHINOBI BARRIER TEAM)

A team of ninja, linked together by their chakra, will create a thirty-six layered barrier which if damaged, will constantly repair itself with said chakra that emanates from their bodies. The barrier also prevents those outside of it from sensing anything inside it through traditional methods.
Mabui noted that it could stop and contain any individual jinchūriki, and it proved to be strong enough to take a direct Tailed Beast Ball from Killer B, with only nine of the thirty-six barriers shattering. However, Naruto Uzumaki transformed into his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and forced the Ball the rest of the way through with B following, showing it could not withstand the assault of two jinchūriki.
